Fashion Hair

2010 January 31

On our last photo shoot each model had a different look and thanks to Stan, added a different style.  Stan came out to the photo shoot set of AJ Designs with all of his supplies to pretty everyone up.  He stayed the whole time to make sure the pictures were great (which they were).  Stan has been in the industry for over 40 years.  While he started out “to be around the girls” he loved the industry so much and used his creativity to his advantage.  Stan keeps up with the latest trends to make sure his customers will always look their best.  He specializes in bridal hair but does all of your hair needs.  The photos are from our recent shoot.  Photos compliments of Kim Ruoff PhotographyD101 Photography.

Kim Ruoff Photography

2010 January 22

Kim Ruoff has been a photographer since 2000. She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, has a passion for photography and takes pride in capturing special moments that will be treasured for years to come. She loves what she does and it shows in her images.

I met Kim through social networking and later at a charity event.  Kim came up to me after recognizing the jewelry of AJ Designs.  We were able to discuss business and I found her to be very warm and friendly.  She showed me her children’s images which were very impressive.  They captured the sweetness of the children and were very professional.

Since I met Kim, she has supported AJ Designs and has photographed one of our jewelry parties and our most recent photo shoot.  I’m looking forward to working with her more in the future.  Check out her work!

David 101 Photography

2010 January 21

David and I met through social networking.  I was impressed with his work and in July of 2009, he shot AJ Designs’ photo shoot.  I was so happy with the results that I asked him to shoot alongside Alex Machicao and Kim Ruoff.

David’s journey into the world of photography began four years ago in college where he had to do some form of art class, his only two options where fine art painting or photography.  Who knew that it would turn out to be a minor and further turn into a profession.  David describes photography as, “A passion and a way of life, my means of stopping time.”

Winter 2010 Photo Shoot

2010 January 15

On Sunday, January 10th, 2010 AJ Designs had another successful photo shoot.  We started the day bright and early at 8:30am with Stan, the hairstylist, and the models.  After working with different stylists in the past, I was able to appreciate Stan.  He knew hair, the products, personalized each person, and on top of it… was personable.  Each model had a different look and did a great job modeling to show off the jewelry.

We started at 10 o’clock shooting.  I had 3 different photographers to add their own touch of style to the photos.  They were all great to work with and professional.  I can’t wait to see the results.

Gator Launches Jewelry Line

2010 January 7

“Gator Launches Jewelry Line” in big bold letters is what I read in the Independent Florida Alligator today.  The Alligator is the school newspaper at the University of Florida.  I was featured for both being an alumna and for launching AJ Designs.

I remember reading the paper daily while in class and taking the day to finish the daily crosswords.  It was my source to know what was going on across campus, to see events, and to escape from boredom in the classes we all dreaded.

Since I graduated from UF, I have felt a sense of pride and accomplishment.  A day doesn’t go by when I see someone sporting UF apparel and I feel the internal “GO GATORS!” shout out.  I would like to thank UF and the Alligator.

Thank you: Social Media & More

2009 December 24

Many people don’t realize all that goes into a business.  I have been marketing online using twitter, facebook, an active newsletter, which currently goes out to over 1700 viewers, and a blog.  With that and continuing to make the products of AJ Designs, I have turned to others for help.  Three people who have continued to help as creative editors and who I would like to thank are: Kim, T.S. (who asked to be anonymous), and Ashley for all of their help and support.

Kimberly Bordonaro is the president of ProStyle Image. Drawing on 12+ years of marketing, public relations, and business development experience, she takes her clients to the next level of success through strategically developing their comprehensive personal brand. Her clientele ranges from high-level film/production executives to start-up entrepreneurs. She also facilitates seminars for corporations and non-profit organizations.  Kimberly Bordonaro lives in Woodland Hills, CA with her husband, son, and rescue cat, Jagger.

T.S. is an amazing person who asked to be anonymous without details provided.

Ashley Roe is an SEO copywriter and content manager in Atlanta, GA. Over the past several months, she has volunteered her web copywriting and search engine optimization (SEO) skills to help AJ Designs gain more exposure in the digital world. A long-time supporter of AJ Designs, Ashley has been a fan of Amanda’s jewelry since Amanda gifted her a handmade, silver-beaded University of Florida Gators bracelet as a graduation gift in December 2004. As AJ Designs grows in success, Ashley looks forward to offering her expertise wherever she can.

PS- Ashley says she still wears the bracelet!

I am so grateful for all of the help and support I have received.  Again thank you all for your help and expertise!
